Havapoo Breed Overview

Find the Right Havapoo Puppy for Your Family

The Havapoo is a small hybrid created by crossing a Havanese with a Poodle. It may also be called a Poovanese, Havadoodle, or Havanoodle. Adult Havapoos commonly weigh 7–30 pounds and stand about 8–15 inches tall. Their adult size can vary depending on the Poodle parent.

Affectionate, intelligent, playful, and social, Havapoos often enjoy close companionship. They generally respond well to positive, consistent training and engaging activities. Some may experience separation anxiety when left alone for extended periods. Individual personalities and training needs can vary.

Their soft, wavy or curly coats are often low-shedding, but coat type varies. Regular brushing and scheduled grooming help prevent tangles and keep their coats manageable. Routine ear, dental, and nail care should also be included.

Their small size and adaptable personality can suit apartments, smaller homes, and houses with yards. Havapoos do not need a large yard, but they still require daily exercise and mental engagement. Walks, indoor games, training sessions, and supervised play can support those needs.

Havapoos typically live 12–15 years, although individual health and longevity vary. They may inherit health concerns from either parent breed. Prospective owners should discuss breed-related health and preventive care with a veterinarian.

For families prepared to provide grooming, training, activity, and companionship, a Havapoo can be a loving addition. Review our health guarantee and puppy training information before deciding.
